just a update, the blower fan was to suck out the fumes from the clear coat to avoid over spray landing on the clear coat, didn’t have access to a both, but overall the garage worked out really good, the 2 side windows on the garage where open, and the fan forced the air out the garage door, kinda making a paint booth effect, the exterior is next, then after that, a coat of white, in its respective places and then its done, oh the black part of the dash will be getting a coat of black, as …
The interior is painted in the old Ford truck

Id forgotten all about the sport tracs. Our ford dealer is piss poor. Hes a ford dealer but he only has one 09 F-150 on his lot and thats the only new ford he has the rest are used cars that aren’t even fords. So basically saying finding a sport trac where I live is 1 in a million.

Yeah..good to get those fumes out…and that’s the first thing I do when I get the part..examine to make sure it’s the right one! I’ve been pretty lucky that way..but you just can’t let down your guard!

thanks, it sure will stand out on the street!
and all credit goes to my father, as he is the body man, and painter, i just help out as much as i can, like grinding all the sheet metal work (which is not easy!), and any grunt work!
like holding a light when he was applying the clear coat, so i guess i did some of the behind the scenes stuff!
but he makes it shine! and the body lines perfect!

thanks Jack, more to come, and it was kinda tricky painting in the garage, but luckily we thought to rig up a fan to suck all the fumes out when we put the clear down, so no over spray on the clear coat, the interior should glow now, much better than the black it used to be! and it is coming along, hit a snag here and there, like the local supplier gave us the wrong window rubber, to do the whole truck, so back it goes!, 1 step forward 2 steps back!
lol lol ah well, its moving along,

thanks for the comment, it is very nice!

to bad about the over spray, i say the only way to paint is to remove all glass and all trim and grilles, thus you don’t risk getting paint on them, and you can get paint in all the hard to reach spots, but then again that costs more, glad to hear it shines up nice for you,it sure is a bright color!
i won’t fear blending in with the crowd for sure, it doesn’t even need this explosive red,a 70s Ford truck sticks out as it is in modern traffic,
which is a good thing, i dare to be different!

you might if you go to your local Ford dealer, it seems only the Explorer Sport trac and the Adrenaline version have it, or the 2007-2009 Shebly GT-500’s, and thanks for the comment,

thanks for the comment buddy, it also will have the new Mustang white on it, to recreate the old paint job, that you can see on my channel’s background, if you ever see the 4 door Explorer Sport Trac Adrenaline truck (they have a blacked out grille) at your local Ford dealer, or out on the street, they come in the same red, it really pops out in direct sunlight!

Great hobby there. That’s the best colour for an old Ford truck.

thanks, i am very picky when it comes to red, i find a lot reds too dark, and they almost appear like Burgundy to me at times, but this red is nice and bright, and it doesn’t cross into the realm of orange which i also don’t like in reds, if you seen “I AM LEGEND” that Shelby is the same color, i thought it just popped in that movie scene, thus that’s why they choose that color for that car in the opening scene, i think matched with the pure bright white, the contrast should be explosive!

Nice bright red, very nice colour.

thanks, i can’t wait to get it on the exterior, but i must admit, the credit is all due to my father, he is the master i am just the apprentice, people on here say painting and auto body is easy, and have given me heck, saying ah you should be painting your own truck, those people are crazy, auto body work and painting is not simple, well if you want low quality sure, but my father has done this work when he was younger, and he has painted more cars than he can even count over the years, i haven’t

thanks and i am very excited, it sure is a bright red, if you seen the movie “I AM LEGEND” the opening scene with the Shelby GT-500 racing in the abandoned streets of New York City, that’s the same red i got, as soon as i seen it on the big screen, i was like wow now that is the red i want!
